Happy 71st Birthday, Brian Bolland!

Happy Birthday to the legendary comic book artist, Brian Bolland. He's best known for his work in Judge Dredd, Camelot 3000, and of course, Batman: The Killing Joke.

His super-tight ink work and his eye for cool composition is a huge influence to me. I devoured his art style as much as I could and channelled it to mine. Brian's version of the Joker is like no other and it's easily my favourite version. While he did not create the character but he certainly in my view, perfected the look of the Clown Prince of Crime.

Like me, Brian is an Aries and our birth date is very close to each other (he's March 26th and I'm March 29th). I guess we late March-ers have a knack for drawing.

I can't say enough how much his work has made a big impact on me. I'd love to meet him one day but until that day comes, I wish him the best of health and hope he appreciates this little fan art I did of him. As a mad clown once said, “Let’s put a smile on that face!”
